USA, Nashville, TN.
ALSA, the organization leading the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research while also empowering people with Lou Gehrig's Disease has been supported by Permobil since 2006. Every year, hundreds of thousands of people across the US bring their determination, energy, and passion to the "Walk to Defeat ALS". More than just a short trek, it's an opportunity to bring hope to ALS patients, to raise money for a cure, and to join together to fight for something we care about.

Sweden, Timrå
Permobil and Timrå Equestrian Association have together given three disabled children the possibility to be rehabilitated through horseback riding once a week during the period 2010-2012.

Timrå Equestrian Association wanted to expand their business and prove that anyone can ride. Thanks to Permobil's sponsorship, they were able to let three disabled children ride during school hours once a week. Knowing that horseback riding is a great method for rehabilitation and has a good impact on the body and coordination, Timrå Equestrian Association has also, with the Permobil sponsorship, arranged two summer camps for these children and been able to buy a disability saddle that has been of great help during all activities.

"We've gotten a lot of appreciation from parents and the children have developed enormously. At the beginning, there were several adults present at each lesson but now the children can handle their horses almost by themself", says Ida Bonér, one of the driving forces behind the activities.

Ida Bonér herself is a trained pediatric nurse and riding instructor and says she is working with these children because she knows that it is good training for them combined with a weekly fun experience and something to look forward to.
